Prof. Slavik (Vlado) Jablan (born in Sarajevo on 10th June 1952) graduated in mathematics from the University of Belgrade (1971), where also gained his M.A. degree (1981) and Ph.D. degree (1984) with the dissertation “Theory of Simple and Multiple Antisymmetry in E2 and E2\{O}”. Participated in the Advanced Scientific Program in Kishinev (Moldova) 1985, in USA and Canada (1990). Fulbright scholar in 2003/4. Published four monographs and more than 50 papers on the knot theory, theory of symmetry and ornament, antisymmetry, colored symmetry, and ethnomathematics. The Executive Secretary (2001-) of ISIS Symmetry (International Society for the
Interdisciplinary Studies of Symmetry)
and the Editor of electronic journal Visual Mathematics.
